Unity Package Manager fails to update from asset store

Unity version: Unity
Unity pipeline: Standard / UR / HDRP
Unity pipeline api version: Unity
Operating System: windows 10
Detail Report: Unity asset store fails to show available updates & when it does show it fails to download / load the updates in projects

Unity console warnings & errors:
none

Status: Closed
this is a unity bug, please verify your asset version number when downloaded from Unity, You can find the version number in the DE manager windows

Solution:
if you find problems, please follow below instructions

For windows users:
1. open file explorer (WinKey + E)
or simply type this into the file explorer: %APPDATA%\Unity\Asset Store
2. type %APPDATA% for the path, then click ENTER
3. Select the Unity folder open and remove packages
4. Re download and install again
